About the Project
The Digital Language Lab (DLL) project is designed to support foreign language teachers in adapting to the demands of 21st-century education. This initiative focuses on creating a sustainable environment for teachers to develop digital competencies and innovative approaches that enhance teaching and learning processes.
The project specifically aims to:
- Establish a framework where teachers can acquire and apply 21st-century digital skills.
- Promote learning mobility among foreign language teachers while fostering cooperation, quality, inclusion, equity, and creativity in language education.
- Help teachers explore the potential uses of Web 2.0 tools across various teaching scenarios and provide guidance on creating digital content to enhance their professional skills.
By the end of the project, we will have achieved the following outcomes:
- Conducted a thorough analysis of language teachers’ needs regarding the use of Web 2.0 tools, resulting in a cross-country report for widespread use.
- Developed a shared syllabus for creating activities and games using Web 2.0 tools, aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework for Languages).
- Designed and launched the Digital Language Lab—an online multilingual platform that serves as both an Open Educational Resource (OER) with ready-to-use digital teaching materials and a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) to effectively train language teachers.
- This project represents a significant step toward integrating technology and innovative practices into language education, ensuring teachers are well-equipped to meet the challenges of modern classrooms.
